1. Summary
This RFC proposes onboarding an ETH Lower Risk Vault to the Lazy Summer Protocol on Arbitrum.
Currently, there are no ETH vaults available on Arbitrum, which limits diversification and yield opportunities for users who prefer ETH-denominated strategies. The goal is to enable an initial, conservative ETH vault that aligns with Lazy Summer’s Protocol “Lower Risk” strategy framework.
2. Context & Motivation
Arbitrum has become 2nd most active chains within Lazy Summer Protocol ecosystem, with strong participation in USDC and USDT vaults. However, ETH-based strategies are notably absent — despite ETH being a core asset for onchain investors.
Adding a Lower Risk ETH vault would:
- Expand yield options for Arbitrum users (ETH-native DeFi participants).
- Improve balance between stablecoin and non-stablecoin exposures.
- Strengthen Lazy Summer’s Protocol presence in the Arbitrum ecosystem.
This aligns with the broader protocol goal of cross-chain coverage for all major asset classes [stablecoins, ETH, USDC, USDT, EUR, and BTC (future?)].
3. Proposal
The RFC suggests deploying a Lower Risk ETH Vault on Arbitrum that aggregates yield from battle-tested, high-liquidity venues.
Initial yield sources (Arks) under consideration could be explored via vaults.fyi.
Selected strategies and parameter specifications with follow up, after initial conversation and possible promotion to SIP.
4. Open Questions
- Is the ETH Fleet on Arbitrum worth pursuing?
- Which ETH yield sources should be prioritized for the “Lower Risk” profile at launch?
- Should SUMR rewards be allocated at launch, or only after a short period of live performance?
5. Next Steps
- Gather community feedback on yield sources, parameters, and initial cap size.
- Align on final vault configuration.
- Promote to SIP for formal onchain deployment review/approval.
6. Informal Support Indicator
Would you support onboarding an ETH Lower Risk Vault on Arbitrum as outlined above?
- YES, I support onboarding ETH Lower Risk Vault on Arbitrum
- NO, do not onboard at this time
