1. Summary:
This RFC proposes collaborating with dGEN1 (FreedomFactory) now featuring the Lazy Summer Protocol in their newly launched dGEN App Store and extend our support via a SUMR airdrop campaign aimed at onboarding their first wave of hardware wallet users.
This partnership has the potential to position $SUMR and Lazy Summer Protocol as early ecosystem participants on FreedomFactory, while running a lightweight, targeted airdrop campaign through their platform.
2. Context & Motivation
FreedomFactory (dGEN1) is an emerging decentralized hardware + app ecosystem designed for self-custody-first crypto users. Their devices act as secure, mobile access points to onchain apps (like RocketPool, Fluidkey, Camelot, Aerodrome, Alchemix, and more), integrated through their curated dGEN App Store.
dGEN1 has just shipped 6,000+ devices and is rolling out a Progressive Web App (PWA) version of their app store, which allows users to access DeFi apps, including Lazy Summer Vaults directly from their phones or wallet devices.

Why this matters:
- FreedomFactory represents a new category of onchain users, specifically hardware-native and mobile-first.
- Featuring Lazy Summer Protocol on their dGEN1d App Store expands visibility beyond DeFi-native users to a broader, self-custodial audience.
- A $SUMR airdrop through their verified device owners can serve as an onboarding funnel into Lazy Summer’s Protocol vaults and governance.
This is a low-cost, high-visibility marketing experiment that aligns with $SUMR’s move toward transferability and broader ecosystem recognition.
3. Proposal
- Feature Lazy Summer Protocol (via summer.fi frontend) on FreedomFactory’s dGEN1 App Store as a launch partner.
- Run a joint airdrop campaign distributing a small SUMR allocation to verified device owners.
- Target: 100,000 SUMR (example size, open for discussion).
Expected outcomes:
- Strengthen $SUMR visibility ahead of transferability.
- Gain new, hardware-native users familiar with vault interactions.
- Reinforce Lazy Summer’s Protocol positioning as a composable, integrated DeFi layer.
3.1 Considerations
Budget: ~100,000 SUMR (flexible, depending on campaign scale).
Timing: Ideally, post-SUMR-transferability and staking v2 launch.
Distribution: Through FreedomFactory’s verified device airdrop portal.
Measurement: Campaign analytics via dgen1 referral code track deposits into Lazy Summer Protocol.
4. Next Steps
- Gauge DAO sentiment on collaborating with dGEN1 / FreedomFactory.
- If supported, define final $SUMR allocation and eligibility rules.
- Coordinate campaign launch timing with $SUMR transferability milestone.
- Review results post-campaign and assess for future co-marketing rounds.
5. Informal Support Indicator
Would the community support running a small SUMR airdrop campaign through dGEN1 / FreedomFactory to onboard new users and increase SUMR visibility?
