### 1. Summary: The SUMR token launched just over 1 year ago (January 29th 2025), allocating over 41M SUMR to over 8,000 eligible addresses. Today, there remains just over 25.7M SUMR unclaimed in the contract ([Address: 0x54a2ea2B...9A880B8dd | BaseScan](https://basescan.org/address/0x54a2ea2B8f57D62c149ace01d7Ac1fd9A880B8dd#writeContract)) In this RFC, I propose that the DAO, who is control of the distribution contract, removes the current root and uses the ‘emergencyWithdraw’ method to transfer the tokens back to the DAO for other uses. * * * ### 2. Context & Motivation: As the tokens have been claimable for over 1 year, I think it’s time to recoup the SUMR tokens which, if they were to be claimed, would not be claimed, especially as SUMR is trading, and put them back in the DAO for other, more valuable uses. * * * ### 3. Proposal: - Remove the root at index 1 at the contract: [Address: 0x54a2ea2B...9A880B8dd | BaseScan](https://basescan.org/address/0x54a2ea2B8f57D62c149ace01d7Ac1fd9A880B8dd) - Call EmergencyWithdraw to withdraw all remaining tokens, may need to be a follow up sub-sip after the first step, so no future claims can be made during the voting stage of the initial SIP * * * ### 4. I support this proposal but would suggest one modification to reduce potential community backlash: Before executing the emergency withdrawal, could we implement a final 30-day notice period? This could include: - An announcement on all [Summer.fi](http://Summer.fi) channels - A clear deadline after which claims will no longer be possible This way, we’ve made every reasonable effort to notify eligible users, and the DAO can reclaim these tokens with a clear conscience ---

thank you @chrisb for bringing this one up! I think the time has come and agree with recouping the unclaimed SUMR tokens back to the DAO treasury a very good point/proposal from @BitChan to run some comms around this towards community for 2-4 weeks prior to the recoup being executed onchain is a good way to prevent any community backlash ---
